Case Study Background:
Port Sunlight Village Trust is an independent charitable trust responsible for preserving and promoting the model village of Port Sunlight, created by William Hesketh Lever for his Sunlight soap factory workers in 1888. Almost all of the buildings in the Port Sunlight Conservation Area, including 250 rental properties, are Grade 2 listed and of unique architectural interest.
August 2009 saw the completion of 21 apartments in Water Street, Port Sunlight, a fantastic development in the traditional architectural style of the village yet with a high degree of modern comfort.
“We chose NIBE exhaust air heat pumps with under floor heating because we
wanted low carbon heating systems with low running costs for our tenants. Following a site visit we were sufficiently impressed to order the NIBE systems,” says Lionel Bolland, Chief Executive.
