Troubleshooting Guide

This guide enables householders to diagnose and rectify simple issues affecting the smooth running of their heat pump.

Please refer to one of the issues listed below and follow the steps and additional information, accessed via the sub-menu to the left, to help diagnose the problem.


Issue:               There is no heating
What to do:        Is the heat pump display flashing?
If YES please refer to the section on 'Flashing Display'
If NO it could be that the heat pump is in the wrong 'Operational Mode' or on the wrong 'Heat Curve'. It could also be due to 'Low Pressure in the Heating System'.

Issue:               There is no hot water
What to do:        Is the heat pump display flashing?
If YES please refer to the section on 'Flashing Display'
If NO it could be that there is 'Air in the Outer Jacket'.

Issue:               The heat pump display is flashing
What to do:        Is there a  'High Pressure' alarm?
                         Is there a 'Low Pressure' alarm?
If the display is flashing but there is an issue other than  high or low pressure alarms, please contact us.
    
Issue:               You want more heating
What to do:        Please refer to 'Adjusting the Heat Curve'.

Issue:               You want more hot water
What to do:        Please refer to the section 'Air in the Outer Jacket'

Turning the main ON/OFF knob to Standby (left hand position with hand symbol) will give heating only as a temporary solution to most technical issues. There will be no display on the screen.






F2005 and F2015:

Please Note the on the 2005 the factory setting for the unit shuts the heat pump down at -7 degrees outdoor temp.(sensor below heat pump).

It is possible to allow the unit to operate to lower temperatures but the heat pump output/efficiency is reduced considerably and if a back up is available this should be used until the temperature outside increases.

The stop temperature can be adjusted in the following menus.

If the stop temperature is dropped to say -10 max (menu 9.1.9 VVM & SMO 10) then the period between defrost should be dropped to 35min (menu 9.1.6 ) and max defrost time should be increased to 9 min (menu 9.1.5) These changes require the controller to be in service mode (menu 8.1.1)

The 2015 will stop at -15°C this should be low enough but this temp can be lowered to -20°C but the defrost times should be altered as above.
