Renewable Energy Grants in the Ribble Valley

Ribble Valley Borough Council wants to encourage its residents to look at alternative methods of heating their homes where the property is not served by mains gas. Some funding is available to help you install one of the following:

  • Solar Water Heating Panels
  • Solar Electricity (Solar PV) Panels
  • Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Air Source Heat Pumps

Anyone wishing to use alternative fuels such as wood pellets should contact John Barber at Ribble Valley Borough Council for further information.

Who can apply?

  • Owner occupiers who live in Ribble Valley Council tax bands A to F and are not on mains gas.
  • The property must have loft insulation of at least 200mm installed and, if appropriate, have cavity wall insulation.
  • Approval of the grant is at the discretion of the authority and there is no means test

What assistance is available?

Ribble Valley Borough Council will provide assistance up to a maximum £1,500.00 and is available, in addition, to nationwide grant schemes such as those available under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) or Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT).
